Kojo Asiamah, the rep for the Council of Chiefs and Elders on the committee indicated that, it was the decision of the committee not to use the cements donated by Lawyer Kpeli Worlase for the construction of the bridge and same was communicated to the lawyer.
Asked what their reason(s) was/were, he stated that they had earlier purchased the quantity of cements needed for the work and that, the grades of the cements donated by the Lawyer were below the expected grade of cement for the construction work.
He was quick to add that, the cements have been accepted and are currently in the custody of the Council of Chiefs and Elders and would be used for other purposes that would benefit the entire community.
He urged that, the public disregard the rumour in circulation and pleaded that, anyone who wants to support should feel free and do so.
The bridge, linking Ademmra and it’s adjoining towns to Donkorkrom was washed away by a heavy rain. The MP for the constituency, through an all stakeholders engagement, mobilized funds for the reconstruction of the bridge.
A temporary bridge was constructed but got washed away again, leaving the MP and the team with no other option than to construct a permanent concrete bridge on the road.
Currently, work is ongoing steadily on the project, with the hope that, the bridge could be constructed within the shortest possible time to pave way for businesses to boom once again in the District.
