A total of 96 communities in the Kwahu Afram Plains North have been earmarked to benefit from a Solar Mini-grid and Solar Home Systems in the Kwahu Afram Plains North.
The project, which was as a result of a collaborated request to the Ministry of Energy by the Member of Parliament and District Chief Executive of the Kwahu Afram Plains North, has undergone a feasibility studies.
This was disclosed by Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah (MP for Kwahu Afram Plains North) in a Facebook post, where she indicated that, the feasibility studies took 2 weeks.
She further revealed that, a group if engineers, led by Engineer Seth Mawu from the Ministry of Energy were in the District to undertake the feasibility studies of the project.
However, the post did not revealed the names of the beneficiary communities but described them as communities that are hard-to-reach.
It is believed that, most of these 96 communities would probably be within the two islands that form part of the Kwahu Afram Plains North District.
She further added that, her office is working closely with the District Assembly to extend the project to other communities are they work hard to break barriers and build a future for Kwahu Afram Plains North.
