The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has indicated that, it would stop at nothing to identify and publicly laud minority MPs who defiled the orders of the party.
This came after the Parliament of Ghana had conducted a secret ballot to confirm or otherwise, ministers nominated by H.E President Akufo-Addo.
The NDC had earlier directed all minority MPs to vote against the appointment as they call on the president to reduce the number of ministers.
However, after the polls on the floor of Parliament on Friday, March 25, 2023, the ministers nominees were all overwhelmingly approved.
The General Secretary of the party, Comrade Fifi Fiavi Kwetey in a press release indicated that, the party reaffirm its principled position for President Akufo-Addo to downsize his bloated government and reset his priorities to reflect difficult times Ghanaians find themselves in.
The party also indicated that, the country is currently facing the biggest economic meltdown in living memory and therefore, unpardonable for any person to lend support to the ongoing recklessness by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia/NPP government, not to talk of a Member of Parliament who believes in the ideals of the NDC.
The party therefore, on behalf of Ghanaians condemns the conduct in no uncertain terms, as it not only betrays the expressed will of the party, but the desire of the Ghanaian people and constitutes a massive stab in the back of the good people of Ghana.
Many Ghanaians have expressed disappointment in the minority caucus of Parliament, after their betrayal to confirm the ministers nominated, despite the current hardship the country is facing.
