The mandate of the Kwahu Afram Plains North District Assembly as enshrined in the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act, 936) is to initiate programmes for the development of basic infrastructure and provide District works and services in the District.
Thus, in 2021 in the area of Education, Health, Water, Roads, Social Protection and Sanitation, Infrastructure, Environment and Agriculture, the following projects and
programmes has been initiated and completed:
1. 16,650 cashew seedlings distributed to farmers by the Forestry Department in the District.
2. School Furniture for JHS and SHS supplied.
3. Public Education on Stray Animals Organized at Preda Island.
4. 3-Unit Classroom Block with ICT Laboratory and Staff Common Room Constructed at Nana Baadu School, Donkorkrom.
5. 1,230meter U-drain Constructed at Asikasu (75% Complete as at July 2021).
6. Selected Communities Sensitized on Child Protection and Child and Family Welfare Policy in
the District.
7. DPCU Members trained on Contract Management and Planning Standards.
8. Selected Communities sensitized on Child Trafficking and Child labour in the Island areas.
