EC would undertake registration in difficult to reach areas – Jean Mensa

Mrs Jean Mensa has indicated that, the Electoral Commission (EC) would be undertaking voters registration in hard to reach areas.

This was made known in her response to a petition presented by Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah (MP for Afram Plains North) challenges the EC’s decision to conduct the voters’ registration at only District Offices of the commission.

Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah, during a press briefing on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 on the theme: Afram Plains Confronts EC’s Voter Registration Modalities, she outlined some of the challenges her constitutes would be facing as a result of the commission’s decision.

Despite acknowledging the challenges and concerns raised by the legislature in her petition, the Electoral Commission notified her that the commission will undertake registration in difficult to reach electoral areas next year.

The Electoral Commission is currently undertaking voters registration exercise across the country at all it’s district office.
