ADULTS IN UNIFOR
They don’t care about the chalk
Neither do they care about the cane
They rub shoulders with their subjects
And call it a new trend
Naive in appearance, experts in practical.
The law shields them to the core
They are the apple of the employer’s eyes
Touch them and you will have queries to answer
Hurt them and you’ll be shown the exit
Yes, that is the order of the day
Teachers burn the midnight oil
Prepare and research for the contact hours
In the hope that they will at least learn
But no, not these contemporary adults in disguised uniforms
They kill their instructors with perpetual noise
And finish them with outrageous nicknames
They give names to their superiors
Inordinate names of contempt
Ridicule and tease them even in their presence
And discuss them in their dormitories
And woe unto you who try to correct them
You might face the full rigors of the law
Yes, the corrector becomes a victim
No wonder they exhibit poor performance
Even in these tech days of ours
When knowledge is in excess
And acquiring it is only a click away
Our soon-to-be parents in uniforms care less
After all, don’t they have the backing?
Until the old path is found
And the very binding ethics of living are brought back
Society should brace itself for the worse
I’m only a messenger.
