The Kwahu Afram Plains North District Assembly, under the leadership of Hon. Kate Mawusi Babanawo, has successfully inaugurated the first batch of youth selected for the district’s Skilled Training Program, in partnership with the Youth Employment Authority (YEA) and AIS.
The ceremony, held at the District Assembly premises, brought together representatives from AIS, YEA staff, beneficiaries, and stakeholders committed to youth development.
A total of 67 young people have been enrolled in a variety of employable skills, including:
✓Apparel Production
✓Auto Works
✓Bead Making
✓Beauty Care
✓Painting
✓Welding and Fabrication
✓Electricals
✓Carpentry
✓Motor Biking (Okada)
In her address, Hon. Kate Mawusi encouraged the trainees to embrace discipline, hard work, and positive attitudes. She reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting their progress and highlighted the NDC government’s broader agenda for youth empowerment and job creation.
Representatives from AIS also commended the initiative and emphasized the transformative impact such skill-based programs have on young people, urging the beneficiaries to take their training seriously.
The District Assembly expressed profound appreciation to H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Hon. Malik Basintale, and Director Foli Atigah for their support and leadership in making this opportunity possible for the young people of Kwahu Afram Plains North.
