The Oti Region was blessed to host the maiden edition of the Digital Music Education Seminar on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
The event, hosted at the Jasikan Municipal Assembly Hall at Jasikan was put together by Jonilar.net and Digishare Africa in partnership with other stakeholders in the Creative Arts Industry.
The event is expected to be held across the country, with focus on educating players within the Creative Arts Industry on how best to leverage on existing infrastructure to improve upon their craft.
The DME Series saw individuals such as Jonathan Nii Laryea (Jonilar), Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams (MP – Buem Constituency), Wisdom Yaw Ofori, Dr. Hanson Akoto, Gloria Afetor, Christian Ziorklui among others gracing the event.
WELCOME ADDRESS
Christian Ziorklui, the Executive Secretary of Jonilar.net in his welcome address appreciated the efforts of Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, the Member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency for his continuous support for the creative arts industry within the Jasikan Municipal.
He urged all the participants to take advantage of the event, create the necessary networks and build relationships that would help them improve upon their crafts.
KEY NOTE ADDRESS
Jonilar, who was the guest speaker, touched on the following;

5. Data-Driven Insights: Understanding the value of data analytics to gain insights into audience preferences and tailor content accordingly.
6. Collaborations & Networking: The power of collaboration among artists and networking to expand reach and grow together in the digital space.
7. Personal Branding: Building a strong personal brand to create a unique identity and connect with fans on a deeper level.
8. Monetization Strategies: Exploring various avenues to monetize music, such as merchandise, virtual events, and crowdfunding.
9. Mobile Music Consumption: Recognizing the dominance of mobile devices in music consumption and optimizing content for mobile users.
10. Global Reach: Encouraging artists to think beyond local boundaries and use digital platforms to reach an international audience.
Students from Bueman Senior High School (BUSEC) and Okadjakrom Senior Technical School were also present and that event to learn more about the creative arts industry.
VISIT TO NANA EDJE TETE KPASE-BRANTUO VII
The team from Jonilar.net and Digishare Africa, as part of the DMESeminar, paid a courtesy call on Nana Edje Tete Kpase-Brantuo VII (Jasikanhene and Buem Adontenhene) in his palace on July 27, 2023.
The visit was to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Chief and his elders for giving the privilege to organize the inaugural event in Jasikan.
Nana Edje Tete Kpase-Brantuo VII and his elders welcomed the team and applauded them for taking up such an initiative. The Chief further shared his plans on how to develop and improve upon the Creative Arts Industry within Jasikan and the Oti Region with the team.
DONATIONS
Over 1000 exercise books, set of mathematical instruments among other writing materials were distributed to schools within the Jasikan Municipal.
The donations were done with support from Rising Root Foundation and School Support Project.
Speaking with a session of the players within the Creative Arts Industry who attended the Digital Music Education Seminar, they expressed their gratitude and called on the organizers to bring more of such education to the Region.
