The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has released it’s movement plan for the voter registration exercise as part of the preparations towards the 2024 December Election.
In a letter, dated April 10, 2024 and signed by Bossman Eric Asare, PHD (Deputy Chairman, Corporate Services) on behalf of the Chairperson of the Commission, the registration exercise is expected to commence on May 7 and ends on May 27, 2024.
The Kwahu Afram Plains North District, being one of the largest Districts in the Eastern Region and having two different Islands, has been considered and given 12 different registration centres.
This follows an earlier Press Statement by the Hon. Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Betty Krosbi Mensah, highlighting challenges her constituents would face if asked to register only at the District Office of the Commission.
The Commission, in a respond to the Hon. Member of Parliament, promised undertaking voter registration exercise in hard to reach areas, including the Kwahu Afram Plains North District in 2024.
After the release of the Movement Plans of the EC for the May 2024 Voter Registration exercise, this article is aimed at giving a detailed breakdown of the various centres and when to expect the registration officials at such centres.
